Americana

The Americana at Brand opened this past month and I finally got to see what it was all about. I watched them tear down the old businesses, flatten the area and ultimately build the center that is now home to high-end shops, restaurants and condos. Since I moved nearly eight months ago I didn't get to see them put on the final touches nor did I get to attend the grand opening. But I can say that I've been there now and it's a great shopping area. I would have had lunch at the park there every day.

While we were in Southern California we also went to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana to see the Chinese Terra Cotta Warrior exhibit. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was actually really interesting. Saturday night we went to a farewell party in La Canana-Flintridge and Sunday we spent the morning in Montrose and the afternoon in Old Pasadena. We fit a lot into two days and had a great time.

Well even if you didn't attend the grand opening, you got to see visit it when it was still "brand" new. (And I'll bet it's impressive!)
