Maggie's first tooth finally decided to make an appearance. Yesterday I thought I felt a little something in the morning but wasn't completely sure. After Chad came home from work he confirmed that yes, there was a LITTLE something and it probably was a tooth. We braced ourselves for a terrible night last night but it turned out fine. Maggie slept from 9pm to 7am and wasn't fussy a bit. Hmmm...maybe it wasn't a tooth after all. Then this morning after her breakfast I poked and jabbed her mouth again and that LITTLE something got a LITTLE bigger. And sharp! Let's hope tonight is just like last night. She's one tough cookie.
Below are a few photos of our morning together: Maggie smirking because she has a secret tooth; wait a minute--are her eyelashes growing too?; can't hide all that drool; and finally, what tooth? I just want to laugh and play!
Excuse the various qualities of photos. I was playing around with my camera settings, trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Obviously I got plenty of shots that didn't work, but I included them here anyway.

Swingers
The weather this weekend couldn't have been more perfect. Warm and sunny, but not hot. We spent as much time as we could outside, soaking up the sun and watching the people. Saturday was Maggie's first ride in a bucket swing. While she didn't cry, she wasn't quite sure what we just put her in and why. Maybe in a month or so she'll be a little stronger and more excited about sitting in the swing. She did, however, love riding on the big swing with Chad. She was all smiles and could have stayed with him in it all day.

Happy New Year!
Chinese New Year, that is. Last night Chad, Maggie and I were invited to our neighbors' home for dinner to celebrate the occasion. They had a traditional meal called hot pot and it was lots of fun. Eating hot pot is new to us but Sarah, our host, explained the ingredients and process and we quickly caught on. I mean, it's food so how complicated can it be, right? I also drank some chrysanthemum tea, another first, and it was as delicious as it was pretty. Welcome to the year of the tiger!

Bay Area
This weekend we spent the weekend in Campbell, Capitola and Santa Cruz with our friend Russ and his fiance, Carolyn. She planned a surprise party for his birthday and we were there to hang out and distract him for the day. The weather was fantastic and sunny--perfect winter beach weather--and we had a blast with our good friends. Can't wait to do it again!
