Today I began the big (but fun) task of plant shopping for our backyard. Fortunately everything was on sale at Lowe's so it wasn't as crazy expensive as I thought it was going to be. We've decided on the the purple and green color scheme for the backyard which I think is going to look really pretty when everything is planted and growing. Today I ended up with twelve purple flowering plants, two of each variety, because that's all I could fit in my trunk. Here's what I chose:

I'm sure you've seen them all before at Lowe's or Home Depot. They don't seem to be too out of the ordinary but they're all pretty. I already had a butterfly on the pincushion plant this afternoon.
That's going to look nice and it will be so fun to have butterflies in your yard. I'm impressed you know and remember the names. I know azalea, hosta, hyacinth, forsythia and that's about it. Oh, I know roses too. everything else is "that purple plant" or "that pink plant".
Each plant comes with a information tag--that's how I know what they are. Although I feel like I'm getting better and know more about plants than I did before, I still have a long way to go.
