This week my parents generously bought me a Bernina walking foot for my sewing machine. I figured out how to assemble the pieces and hook it up to my machine, but really I have no clue how to use it yet. That's what books and classes are for, right? I'm excited to learn how to use it and get some projects finished that I've been working on. Thanks Dad and Mom!

What kind of stitch or special thing does this foot do. I know nothing.
This foot holds all your fabric together as it's going through the machine. Usually when you're sewing you have two pieces you're trying to sew together and you can use a regular foot for that. But when you're quilting there are three pieces you want to make sure stay together: the quilt top, the bottom, and the middle batting that makes the blanket thick and puffy. Without this foot the fabric slides around under the sewing machine and won't stay together as you want it.
Hopefully that explanation makes sense.
Looks like I got the right one, huh?
Thanks for the explanation, that makes total sense.
Yep, I think you did.
