Today I spent a fair amount of time pruning the plants in our garden. It was a great day for working in the yard (although a bit too windy for the corn again, I'm afraid). In addition to pruning I planted some new seeds: cucumber and zucchini squash. Both take less than two weeks to germinate so hopefully mid-month we'll see activity in those spots. Our watermelon plant, with no watermelons yet, is starting to grow out of control. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll stop growing out and start growing fruit. We'll see.
Look at the surprises I found today in the tomato plants:
The first photo is of two early girl tomatoes and the second shows little grape tomatoes. Yay!

These are awesome photos. Just look at those tomatoes soaking in that sun. That's the essence of summer, hey? :0)
Yep, it sure is. Thanks for the comments, Mel!
If you can't wait for them to turn red, have you ever tried "fried green tomatoes?"
Nope, I've never had them, have you? I think I'll hold off and wait for these to get red.
